 FIA Formula 3000 International Championship 

COCA-COLA NORDIC RACING SIGN RYAN BRISCOE.

Reigning FIA F3000 Championship winning team Coca-Cola Nordic Racing are pleased to announce the signing of young Australian driver Ryan Briscoe.

20-year-old Briscoe shall join Hungarian Zsolt Baumgartner, completing the 2002 line-up for the Coca-Cola Nordic Racing team. 

“We are very pleased to announce Ryan as our final driver for the forthcoming season,” said Team Principal Derek Mower. “ With Ryan and Zsolt we have two motivated young drivers who we are sure will drive us forward again this year, We are looking forward to the beginning of our testing programme at Estoril next week”  

Briscoe, the official Toyota Motorsport Formula One test driver, moves up to the FIA F3000 International Championship following a championship-winning season in the 2001 Italian Formula Renault series. 

“ I feel very privileged to be racing with the Nordic team this season,” commented Briscoe, “and I am really looking forward to my first proper test with the team next week in Portugal. To be racing with a championship winning team in my first season is great and I can’t wait to be driving the new specification car in the forthcoming tests.” 

“We are looking forward to working with our new driver line up at the first official test in Portugal. The team has been working hard all winter to ensure we are prepared for the first race so it will be nice for our engineers to finally do some testing. I know Zsolt and Ryan are also chomping at the bit to finally drive their new Nordic / Lola’s.” added Team Manager Chris Mower.
