Patrick Friesacher (Red Bull Junior Team F3000): fastest man of the f3000-fia test at barcelona-circuit.

“barcelona was very positive for me and my team. it is always important, to set the pace – even at this time of the season!”

team-mate Ricardo Mauricio fastest at afternoon´s session of day 2.

The Red Bull Junior Team was completely satisfied with the testing results of Barcelona - in qualifying conditions as well as in race conditions. Both drivers will go very confident into the next few weeks.

The young Austrian driver Patrick Friesacher was the fastest man of Spain – setting the pace on the first session of Wednesday.

“It is very important for me and my team, to be in such a fine position, even at the beginning of a new season. I have the feeling, that I do understand the complete new Lola. The driving experience is quite similar to a formula 3 car. The new Lola is reacting more directly at fast corners as well as at slow turns. For me the new balance of the car should be ok.  I would like to continue the testing for the next few days, but I have to wait fort he next official test-session at Imola, March 6th and 7th! The first step is done!”

Even team-mate Ricardo Mauricio (Bra) belonged to the fastest drivers of Barcelona, when he fixed the best lap of Wednesday’s afternoon session.

Red Bull Junior-Team-Manager Dr. Helmut Marko was leaving Barcelona in a very positive mood.

„It was just an official test. But it is much better, when the team understands the new technical parameters of a complete new car. I always will prefer to be in front – even at this very important moment of a new season!”
