Silverstone circuit has been today the theatre of the ultimate FIA F.3000 official testing session before Interlagos. Coloni Motorsport has done a very good job with Enrico Toccacelo and Giorgio Pantano. At the start of the morning session the track was very wet due to earlier rain and therefore all drivers used wet tyres to begin with. When the track got much drier, drivers moved onto slicks and the fastest times of the morning were set right at the end of the session. Toccacelo (1.36.761) and Pantano (1.36.770) set the pace with two excellent times. With the track having fully dried out through the lunch break this afternoon's times were much quicker. Pantano took the third quickest time, using only one set of new tyres and the Italian driver was one of the quickest with used tyres. Pantano was extremely happy with the balance of his car and concentrated himself on working in race conditions.

Giorgio Pantano: “It was the first day with Coloni Motorsport and I used the day to gain confidence with the car and learn more about the team. It has been a very good day and I’m extremely satisfied with the performance of the car. In the morning session I set a good time and then we did some further tests. I am happy that we know how the car is working and that we are getting a good set-up.”

Enrico Toccacelo: “I am satisfied with the balance of the car, it improves by finding the smallest of details. I am looking forward to tomorrow and it's nice to be back working again.”

Coloni Motorsport: “We had a productive test today. We've spent the day going through a programme of different set-ups and we are optimistic that we will be on the pace for the first race.”
