Red Bull Junior Team very optimistic on the way to brazil.

patrick friesacher on fine fifth position at silverstone´s fastest session.

Ricardo Mauricio on eleventh position, with some set-up problems.

Patrick F.: “We have learned our lessons and done our homeworks quite well. our team should be competitive at sao paolo!”

Just ten days to go.

The new season will start at Brazil and all the F3000-teams came to Silverstone for some last tuning sessions.

Wednesday’s afternoon session was the fastest one – and Tomas Enge set the pace with an amazing 1min34,40, more than six tenth of a second ahead of his team-mate Björn Wirdheim.

Red Bull Junior Team and Silverstone – this wasn’t a really love story in the year 2001.

But today’s afternoon session brought especially Patrick Friesacher into a fine fifth position.

Patrick F.: “Enge was incredible, but the rest of the field was very close. Our team will come with a fine feeling of self-confidence to Brazil, ready for a competitive start at Sao Paolo. We learned a lot out of all the testing sessions. I think that the championship will be much closer with five or six pilots going for the title. Hopefully, we are two of the favourite drivers. I am very optimistic for 2002!”

Even Ricardo Mauricio will come in good shape to his home grand prix – after a disappointing final test session at Silverstone. “Nothing did work, new tyres, old tyres. So, forget Silverstone!”
