Red Bull Junior Team on brink of European premiere 2002: Ricardo Mauricio (BRA) aims to confirm his fantastic Sao Paolo performance.

Patrick Friesacher (AUT): "Now I'm starting the season in earnest, I've already written off Brazil."

The start of the season in Sao Paolo was very varied for the different drivers, but was a success overall:

Ricardo Mauricio´s third place in Interlagos shows the potential of the racing team from Graz. And for the race in Imola, too, the small Brazilian with the big brave heart is expecting at least a place in the points listings. " I want to confirm my position in the Championship – and to do that I need more points. It's true that I was never at the very front in the tests, but I like the course!" It was only last year that Mauricio entered the F3000 Championship in Monte Carlo.

According to Patrick Friesacher his real start to the international Formula 3000 Championship will be next Saturday in Imola - understandable after the disappointing start in Sao Paulo. The young man from Carinthia/Austria is hoping for confirmation of his driving ability at last at the 2002 European Premier in the form of a placement.

One year ago Friesacher collected his first points of the season here (5th position), even started from the front row. And at the official FIA tests for 2002 a few weeks ago in Imola, the Red Bull Junior was among the front runners. Patrick F.: " Of course in Italy I hope to make up for the bad start in Brazil. The opportunities are there and it's time to achieve some real success at last. If I can confirm the test results to some extent in the qualifying rounds, at least I should be able to make some points.“
