Patrick Friesacher (AUT): "Barcelona is one of my favourite circuits – not only because I drove best time in the official test sessions - a top 3 position would also be a nice birthday present for Dr. Marko!"

Brazilian Ricardo Mauricio also has high hopes for Barcelona!

Imola's good results make the Red Bull Junior Team very confident for the upcoming race in Spain. For various reasons, the third race of this year's Formula 3000 championship
in Barcelona will be a very special one for the Red Bull Junior Team:

First of all, Patrick Friesacher is extremely motivated now - partly because of his strong performance in Imola and partly because he was the fastest in the official FIA test sessions this year. Secondly, Dr. Helmut Marko will celebrate his 59th birthday on the race day - and Patrick has already promised him a top 3 position.

Patrick F.: "I am very confident at the moment. Imola was a huge motivation both for me and the team and I think Barcelona is the perfect circuit to reach out for the podium again, finally. Of course, you can't compare a test and a race, but I definitely like the circuit."
Last year, Patrick F. was 8th in the training and finished 7th in the race!

Ricardo Mauricio too hopes to be able to show his great talent again in Spain, after having had to give up early in Imola. Last year, he did not start in Barcelona and only joined the Red Bull Junior Team in Monte Carlo.
