Giorgio Pantano scored 2nd victory in 2002 F.I.A. F.3000 International Championship:

Coloni Motorsport's Giorgio Pantano dominated F.I.A. F.3000 race at the new look Hockenheimring track.

Pantano drove a fantastic race and set the pace with a crushing victory in round 9th of the International series. With this success, the Italian talented driver put himself in contention for the Championship, after his main rivals for the title suffering rare off all days and failing to finish the race.

Pantano had an excellent start and took the lead into the first corner, which maintained until the chequered flag, improving by almost half second a lap.

Giorgio Pantano: "It was hard to maintain the concentration for all the 33rd laps of the race. I tried to pull out 3-4 tenths every lap to keep a comfortable advantage. The car has been really fantastic all the week-end and was extremely performing well in race conditions. I want to thank all the team for the job done. Now, we are confident with the championship."

Enrico Toccacelo had a unlucky race: at the first hairpin the Italian driver has been touched in the rear and spun off. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire and he did not show his potential. Toccacelo is looking forward with confidence next race in Hungary.
