After two days of hard work, one of them, under the persistent rain, at Jerez, BCN Competición is back in their headquaters at Granollers satisfied of the mission results.
After Marcel Costa´s accident and electronic problemas at Imola, the team went to the andalusian track trying to test systems and gearbox reliability.
Argentinian Gaston Mazzacane, afert one year and a half without feeling the response of a single seater concentrated on regaining speed and setting up work with engineers Paolo Ctone, Eduardo Jimenez and Bruno Corbe.
After the first day with wet track nobody was not looking for times, the second day was more fruitfull because Mazzacane did more than sixty laps and the car advanced with each modification. Mazzacane´s time is not indicatived of the true potential as his fast lap was aborted by a red flag after an accidente. When he returned to the track it started to rain again. On the aborted lap Mazzacane´s rythm was nearly one second fastest than his best registered time.
Before the track was really wet, Costa did nine laps with data acquisition information stressing that he was consistently in the same speed as Mazzacane in certain sections of the track. Both driver and team were quite satisfying and lookinbg forward to the next tests at Barcelona where Mazzacane hopes he´ll be on full speed.
