ANANDA MIKOLA : RACING FOR INDONESIA |

QUALIFYING MONACO
2 June 2000
Ananda Mikola will be flying the flag for Indonesia in the fifth round of the FIA Formula 3000 championship event in Monaco. After two exciting qualifying sessions Ananda will start the 50 lap race from 21st position.
Qualifying was not easy as with 30 cars on the track at the same time and with many drivers spinning finding a clear lap was virtually impossible.
Ananda will start in front of many top line drivers including Tomas Enge the Mclaren driver who qualified third in Nurburgring and Jamie Melo the Petrobras driver.
This was Ananda’s first time at Monaco in a Formula 3000 car so the first session was spent acclimatising himself to the track, In the second session Ananda could only find one clear lap to post his best time of 1.30.974, for the next 7 laps yellow flags and cars on the track meant it was impossible to improvement his time.
Ananda was happy with the car an knows he could go quicker, for the race however caution is the name of the game, with along race and overtaking virtually impossible it is going to be survival of the fittest.

I am happy to be in the race tomorrow, qualifying was such a lottery, It will be a long race and hope I can move up through the field.
