| F3000.com CONTRACTUAL PROBLEMS HALT WEBBER'S FORMULA ONE TEST |
FIA Formula 3000 International Championship |
Due to contractual difficulties, Mark Webber did not participate
as expected, in today's official Formula One test at Silverstone
with the Orange Arrows team.
Despite on-going negotiations which continued right up until the
11th hour, the parties
were unable to agree terms on Webber's future and the young
Australian's test was cancelled, with the team's regular driver,
Pedro de la Rosa, taking over the driving duties.
Further talks are expected tomorrow between European Formula
Racing boss, Paul Stoddart and Orange Arrows Team management to
try and resolve a number of issues, - not all necessarily related
to Webber - but for the time being, the future of Mark's role as
the team's official test driver, the continuation of the EFR
Formula 3000 team as the Arrows junior team and the 2-seater
Arrows Formula One Experience run by EFR, all remain in jeopardy.
