Derek continued his FIA Formula 3000 Testing program in Barcelona this week
testing with both the Kid Jensen Racing and DAMS Teams.

Running with KJR on the first day, Derek concentrated on learning the
demanding Barcelona circuit, his best time was 1:35.114.

The second day, when Derek drove with DAMS, was overcast and showery with
most of the teams sitting out the afternoon session, waiting for the track to
dry. The final 20 minutes saw all the leading runners take to the track, very
similar to a normal qualifying session.

Derek achieved a time of 1:33.263 to claim third position in the most
difficult conditions of the two day test.

" We have learnt a lot here and worked really well with both KJR and DAMS.
The final run with DAMS on Thursday afternoon was very good, I put together a
strong lap and we ended the day in third spot - which I am very pleased with.

Next week we have the final test in Estoril with the Petrobras Team, and I am
really looking forward to this as I know the circuit and should go very well
there" Derek commented Thursday evening.
