12TH PLACE FOR YOUNG AUSTRIAN IN HIS FIRST HOCKENHEIM F3000- QUALFIYING.

TEAMMATE RICARDO MAURICIO REACHED 18TH PLACE.
POLEPOSITION: RICARDO SPERAFICO (PETROBRAS).

The F3000 qualifying of Hockenheim seemed to be the hottest of the season. Even in the late afternoon the temperatures reached nearly 30 degrees. Fastest man of the "hot spot" was Ricardo Sperafico of Brazil. His first F3000 Poleposition ever. 

Patrick Friesacher (Red Bull Junior Team F3000) reached the 12th position in his first Hockenheim F3000-qualifying - and was a little bit disappointed.
Patrick F.: "Not bad, not good - somewhere in between. I've missed a better position in my fastest lap, by a silly mistake. I had too much understearing. On my last set of tyres, I had to much traffic even in the infield of Hockenheim Motodrom. Saturday's race will be very hot - and very long. That´s good for me, because I am physically in very good shape. Tomorrow, I have to wait for my chance, and I am sure, there will be the chance for points again!"

Patrick's teammate Ricardo Mauricio from Brazil again had some problems with the circuit of Hockenheim, like last year, when he finished the race on 14th position. Mauricio will start into tomorrow's race from 18th position!
