F3000
CHAMPIONSHIP round 10
hungaroring, 2001-08-18
Ricardo Mauricio (Red Bull junior team f3000) back to The ROSTRUM in budapest?
"the
team and myself have to defend a third place from last years race. maybe a good
omen for all of us.”
Patrick Friesacher: “it´s my first race at the hungaroring. i just had some
sessions on the playstation!”
With
the 3rd place of Ricardo Mauricio in previous years race (also
Ricardo’s first podium in F3000), the team takes a lot of optimism to the
Hungaroring for the upcoming race. Due to last years result and the ongoing work
in the team, the aims for the race after a short summer brake are quite high.
Dr.
Helmut Marko: "I want Ricardo to defend his third place - and I believe,
Patrick is strong enough for some points, even at his premiere in Budapest.”
Both
drivers worked out on their fitness during the last three weeks. Patrick had an
additional testing day at the Pannonia-Circuit, just hundred miles away from
Hungaro-Circuit at Budapest.
Patrick
F.:
“I know the Hungaro-circuit just through some laps on my play station. The
test on Pannonia-Ring was good for me, although because the characteristic of
both Hungarian circuits is quite similar. I also had the chance to practice some
starts and hopefully I can take some advantage to Saturdays race from this.
