In the first moment, Ricardo Mauricio (Red Bull Junior Team F3000) could not believe his best ever F3000 result, again at Hungaro-circuit at Budapest.
"I had one of my best starts ever. Once behind the leader Wilson, nobody could have stopped me. First, I tried to get Wilson at laps 5 to 7, but I think, he was playing with me a little bit. Than I was concentrated on my race - and on my best result ever. When I saw the flag, I could not believe it. Gratulations even to Patrick. A very strong performance for a newcomer at Budapest!"

Patrick Friesacher showed the only overtaking-manoeuvre of the race, as he got Darren Manning at the end of the start-finish straight.
Dr. Helmut Marko: "I am very proud. Everybody did an excellent job - congratulations to my drivers. Ricardo did no mistakes -and Patrick showed his talents and speed again.!"
