ENGE
GETS F1 CHANCE – JAROSLAV JANIS JOINS COCA-COLA NORDIC RACING. Thetford:
Monday 10th September. EMBARGOED
UNTIL 17:00hrs / Monday 10th September. Coca-Cola
Nordic Racing driver Tomas Enge will replace the injured Brazilian Luciano
Burti at the Prost F1 team for the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix – due
to be held on the 14th, 15th and 16th
September at Monza, Italy. Enge,
who is currently joint second in the FIA F3000 2001 International Drivers
Championship, will join the Prost team with immediate effect. Fellow Czech
driver Jaroslav Janis, who will make his F3000 race debut at Monza, has
taken his position at the Coca-Cola Nordic Racing team. 18 year-old
Jaroslav joins the British team from the German F3 Championship where he
has been competing for the Opel Team KMS outfit. Team
Principal Derek Mower said: “ We are all excited for Tomas and will be
watching him closely at Monza. It is good to see that drivers such as
Tomas and Justin are attracting the attention they deserve from the F1
bosses, and will help establish this formula once again as the route to
F1” Team
Manager Chris Mower added: “I am pleased for Tomas and his new position
at Prost. One of our main concerns now will be to get Jaroslav settled
into the team as quickly as possible and give him the same support and
equipment that helped Tomas to get where he is now. Knowing what a
talented driver Tomas is and having the chance to work with Jaroslav, who
is such a young driver at this level, I am sure that this is only the
beginning of the Czech invasion.” The race shall be shown live on EUROSPORT at 15:00hrs CET. Full qualifying and race updates will be available on the Coca-Cola Nordic Racing website: www.nordicracing.com |
