Coca-Cola Nordic Racing sign Baumgartner for 2002

The
Coca-Cola Nordic Racing team are pleased to announce the signing of
Hungarian driver Zsolt Baumgartner for the 2002 FIA F3000 International
Championship.

year old Baumgartner signed for the Norfolk based team after a recent
successful test in Barcelona, Spain.
“We
have been keeping a close eye on Zsolt since his days in Formula Renault
and we are very pleased to have the chance to sign him for his first full
season in F3000,” said Coca-Cola Nordic Racing Team Manager Chris Mower.
“At the recent test in Spain we were very encouraged with the
performance given by Zsolt and believe that given a structured programme
for the forthcoming season, results will be achievable. Our aim is for top
10 finishes from the word go leading, we hope, to podium finishes by the
end of the year.”
Baumgartner
shall have his first official test as a driver for the Coca-Cola Nordic
Racing team at Estoril (Portugal) on the 27th/28th November.
“Although we shall be testing in the old car, Portugal marks an important start for both Zsolt and the team,” commented Chris, “it is an ideal time to start our new partnership as we will have at least 6 official tests under our belt prior to the first race at Sao Paolo on 30 / 3 /02.”
