Due to his experience of 25 years in motorsport Walter Penker, who comes from the Mölltal in Carinthia, has developed a selection program which has already proved effective in the training of young talents for some years.

The best example for this is the Italian Andrea Piccini who, after only four years with Penker Racing, has moved up to the highest class in motorsport having been taken under contract by European Minardi as Formula 1 test driver. Piccini drove with Penker Racing in the Formula Opel in 1997 and 1998. Afterwards, again managed by Walter Penker, two training years in Formula 3000 followed. The European Minardi Team with Andrea Piccini, apart from Formula 1, also takes part in the International FIA-Championship. Walter Penker will still be the manager of his “model pupil”. 

The Penker Racing Team which is situated in Zeltweg in Stiria will take part in the resurrected Formula Volkswagen. In order to be able to manage the racing team properly while Walter Penker has to manage the Sebring pilot Andrea Piccini, a new partner from old days has been reactivated. Harald Schwarz, an old friend of former times, will work with his marketing company for Penker Racing in the field of operation and marketing. He is going to represent Walter Penker if necessary also during the races in the new Formula Volkswagen. Harald Schwarz was one of Penker’s instructors in his anti-sliding-school until 1986. He was also responsible for the organisation of Penker’s safety- and perfection courses. After his career in motorsport Harald Schwarz, a native Stirian living for almost ten years in Carinthia, started his successful second career as a business trainer. In this job he got to know the remotest parts of our planet. Numerous seminars and lectures at institutes and universities of 22 countries make part of his reference list. As ex-pilot who was successful with a VW-Golf in rallies and mountain races, Harald Schwarz is happy about the fact that VW boss Dr. Piëch has finally revived the legendary Formula Volkswagen.
